Formerly known as MAPS, Stepping Stones is a Maine based non-profit agency established in 1977 that provides high quality services in adoption, community mental health, case management, homeless shelters and transitional living programs, and family support services across Maine and the US.Stepping Stones’ mission is to provide safe, developmentally appropriate services for each child we encounter. Whether it is creating new families through adoption, preserving current family bonds or reunifying families, Stepping Stones offers hope, opportunity and stability as we nurture paths to a more promising tomorrow.
