Yesterday Chairman of the Board, @danny_oooohhh and @sacramentofire Captain Richard Alamo took academy class 25-1 on a hike to Clementine Falls. Danny shared his struggles with mental health and tools to handle them. Captain Alamo also shared some of his story and the wisdom he’s gained over a long career in the fire service. As part of mental health awareness month, it’s important to normalize asking for help and discussing the problems that can lead to suicidal ideation and attempts. Leadership is the most important asset in a crisis situation. One day these young Fire Fighters will be in leadership roles, so it’s our job to lead by example today. We want to make sure our veterans and first responders have the resources and resilience to have a successful career and life outside of work.
