Affordable Housing Centers of America
Affordable Housing Centers of America has offices in 17 cities and a nationwide hotline to serve underserved individuals and communities throughout the United States. Within these cities most of our work takes place in the urban tinderboxes that are often overlooked and forgotten--lower income neighborhoods whose residents are African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and/or recent immigrants from Central America or the West Indies. This includes communities like South Central LA and Pacoima in Los Angeles, Englewood and North Lawndale in Chicago; and the communities south of the Salt River in Phoenix. It is in these hidden pockets of poverty that Affordable Housing Centers of America has set about the task of creating and preserving affordable housing opportunites for low income and minority individuals and communities.
