New Song Lutheran Church

New Song Lutheran Church is a U.S. nonprofit organization, operating as a member congregation of the Grand Canyon Synod within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The church is located in Henderson, Nevada, and was established in 2003.

Founding and History

New Song Lutheran Church was founded by Pastor David Poling-Goldenne. The church's first worship service was held in the ballroom of Sun City's Anthem center. Over time, the congregation grew rapidly, prompting the construction of a new building which opened in 2006. The church also established the New Song Christian Academy, offering preschool education.

Leadership and Mission

Initially led by Pastor David Poling-Goldenne, the church experienced significant growth. Following Pastor David's diagnosis with mesothelioma and his subsequent passing in December 2014, Pastor Marta Poling-Goldenne resigned to care for him. In 2016, Pastor Paul Block was called to lead the congregation, marking a new chapter for the church. New Song emphasizes personal growth, discipleship, and community service, encouraging members to engage with local organizations.

Worship and Community

New Song offers multiple worship services throughout the week. The church operates with a focus on inclusivity and welcomes individuals from all walks of life to experience God's grace. It also participates in charitable programs such as Thrivent Choice, enabling members and supporters to direct charitable funds towards its mission.

Education and Service

In addition to its worship services, New Song Lutheran Church supports the New Song Christian Academy. The church is committed to fostering a strong sense of community through various service opportunities and educational programs. Despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, the church has continued to thrive and expand its outreach efforts.
