Check this out! 👀 Turlock FFA is digging into one of agriculture’s most pressing challenges: food security. With a student-driven hydroponics project now underway, members are gaining hands-on experience growing fresh produce using compact, soil-free systems right on campus. 💧🌱 This innovative project allows students to design, build, and manage their own hydroponic growing stations while discovering how sustainable growing methods can help meet the needs of a changing world. Beyond the classroom, Turlock FFA members are connecting what they learn with this project to real-world opportunities. Through planned field trips, job shadowing, and career exploration, students are gaining insight into how hydroponics is being used by today’s growers. The chapter’s initial goals include building eight student-designed stations and tracking growth, both in plants and in student knowledge, through pre- and post-project surveys. This exciting new initiative is made possible through support from Wilco Farm Stores’ “FFA Forever” Grant Program.
