After our visit to SeaWorld, we stopped by North Park Brewery for some food. There were a few dogs hanging out—some inside, some out on the patio. We ate, relaxed, and were getting ready to leave when I felt this strange pull to ask a man what his German Shepherd’s name was. I usually don’t do that—I don’t walk up to strangers to ask about their dogs—but something in me said I had to. Before I approached him, Jason and I each made a guess. I said Bruce. He said Tank. So I walked over and asked, “Hi, do you mind if I ask your dog’s name?” He said, “His name is Baloo.” At first I thought he said Bruce, and I asked him to repeat it. He said, “No—BaLOO. Like from The Jungle Book.” “Oh wow,” I said. “That’s such a cute name. I haven’t heard that name in forever—I haven’t seen The Jungle Book in years.” The next morning, a Facebook memory popped up—this photo of Ariana. What are the odds?? I don’t even remember watching The Jungle Book with her.. Maybe it was Ariana sending me a sign? At least… I have to believe it was. (fb)
