The Hudson Tunnel Project is a much-needed investment in our passenger rail network that will address the root cause of frequent delays between New York and New Jersey and set the stage for long-term growth. With five construction projects in progress, hundreds of workers are already employed building the HTP, and the project will create many more jobs in the years ahead. Today the Gateway Development Corporation released a fascinating video that shines the spotlight on the skilled workers who are on the ground every day building this massive, complex project. The workers who build megaprojects play a key role in our transit system and our region’s economic growth, but they are often invisible. Hearing from them makes it clear that building a project like this is more than just a job, it is a way to give back and create a legacy.
