Vermont Afghan Alliance Welcome When the United States left Afghanistan in August 2021 thousands of Afghans who helped the United States in its military and diplomatic missions were suddenly left at the mercy of the Taliban. Since then hundreds of Afghans have resettled to Vermont often separated from family members and loved ones and far from all they have ever known. The Vermont Afghan Alliance welcomes these new Vermonters. We welcome and assist Afghans resettling inVermont.
