DUETkids provides no cost music education, instruments and digital music creation for underserved and low income students in partnerships with the public school systems, local, emergency shelters, preschools and after school programs in at risk populations. Multiple studies prove that music helps heal trauma, creates new brain synapses and connections that increase ability to learn complex subjects, lower anxiety, depression and suicidal ideations. By engaging high school student teachers with elementary students with our Student Teaching Students Initiative, DUETkids trains high school students, community volunteers in teaching pedagogy for serving children in situations that may not allow for access or opportunity to learn an instrument. Where there is need, let there be provision
