Friends of San Jose Beautiful

MITP is a 930 square foot human game board located in Discovery Meadow of Downtown San Jose’s Guadalupe River Park & Gardens. (a) This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law exclusively for public and charitable purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these articles, this corporation shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the purposes of this corporation and the corporation shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on (i) by a corporation exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or the corresponding provision of any future United States internal revenue law, or (ii) by a corporation, contributions to which are deductible under Section 170 (c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1985 or the corresponding provision of any future United States internal revenue law. (b) The specific purpose of this corporation is to develop resources, funding and support for the grant program of the Office of San Jose Beautiful, a City of San Jose department, whose mission is to create citizen pride in San Jose and its neighborhoods by fostering a greater sense of community spirit and participation through beautification efforts. Furthermore, this corporation will actively seek general public funding in furtherance of beautification projects and programs benefiting the general public and promoting a positive image for the City of San Jose.
