Margaret Mead Founded in 1929 theNational Japanese American Citizens LeagueJACL is the largest and oldest civil rights organization in the country focused on Americans of Japanese ancestry. Our mission is uphold and secure the civil rights of Japanese Americans and all Americans while preserving the cultural heritage of our people. The Mile High JACL chapter was established in 1938 and has been active in civil rights movements ever since.
