To Empower the Blind and Visually Impaired Students in Africa through Computer Assistive Technology.By bringing a complete assistive computer-technology environment and curriculum to an underserved population, inABLE strives to lessen the educational gap between sighted children and blind or visually impaired children in Africian schools.Using computer assistive technology, effective training, and utter dedication, inABLE celebrates the educational advancements and employable skills training that completely blind and visually impaired students can achieve when given the opportunity to learn computer technology. inABLE's programs are designed to have a transformative impact on the students lives: • Bridge the gap between the blind and sighted in Kenya through technology. Our graduates will be able to seek gainful employment in fields that would otherwise be completely closed to them.• Contribute to increased feelings of self-worth, self-esteem and independence for our graduates.• Societal transformation where blind children are viewed as assets to their families rather than liabilities, which will in turn result in more families believing in and investing in their children's future. • Change of social attitudes toward the blind and visually impaired as they begin to be seen as productive members of society. • Expand the nation's workforce with highly trained and highly motivated blind contributors. • Engage in policy change related to education and employment for the blind and visually impaired to support a shift in family dynamics; making children assets rather than liabilities and provide incentives for more parents to invest in their blind and visually impaired children's education.
