The mission of Southwest Valley Literacy is to teach English literacy skills to adults who want to learn to speak, read and write English. The impact of this service is to promote self worth for the individual and bring greater involvement to the community. Our volunteer tutors are certified by Pro Literacy America and teach in area community centers and libraries who welcome us and our mission. Southwest Valley Literacy is responding to a flood of requests from the adult community to learn English as well as providing an opportunity for those who become tutors and are looking for a fulfilling way to give back to their community.
