Community College of Rhode Island Foundation

The Community College of Rhode Island Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1979 to support the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI). Over the past four decades, the foundation has played a vital role in helping CCRI students achieve their academic and professional goals. It provides scholarships, book awards, and emergency funding, benefiting over 20,000 enrolled students and more than 80,000 alumni. The foundation was recognized as the first community college foundation to receive the prestigious John W. Nason Award for Board Leadership in 2022 by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB).

In 2023, the foundation received a significant $5 million donation from Bally's Corporation, marking the largest gift in its history. This partnership aims to enhance higher education opportunities in Rhode Island and develop specialized academic programs in gaming, hospitality, and security. The donation has doubled the size of CCRI's endowment, significantly impacting the college's ability to provide pathways to higher education and economic opportunities.
