An example of success would be the first production and consumption of cost-competitive renewable jet fuel in Hawaii.

About Us Our Purpose A forum for businesses in the State of Hawaii to collaborate to produce sustainable reliable and local renewable fuel and energy food feed and consumer goods from natural biological materials and wastes. This trade organization seeks to develop beneficial collaborations which innovate reuse of existing infrastructure and industrial systems to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gases relative to imported petroleum energy and food products support the states economic development through use of agricultural land for agribusiness activitiesimprove resident as well as visitor quality of life integrate and support Hawaiis visitor industry through meaningful ecotourism and apply science and databased best practices to reuse waste as well as restore agricultural land watersheds and indigenous ecosystems. Recognizing that no industry survives in isolationHBeTO works to find constructive and proactive paths for green fuels and local food development and consumption that include reasonable compensation mechanisms for the contributions made to the supply chain by local businesses sharing these common business interests.
