Non-Profit dedicated to the economic development and quality of life in Downtown Sanford, NC THE RAILROD HOUSE HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION WAS INITIALLY ORGANIZED TO SAVE AND MAINTAIN SANFORD'S OLDEST HOUSE. THE GROUP HAS PUBLISHED SEVERAL HISTORICAL BOOKS, MAINTAINS THE RAILROAD HOUSE MUSEUM AND PROVIDES HISTORICAL INFORMATION ON SANFORD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. THE GROUP HAS TAKEN THE LEAD IN THE STABILIZATION, RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE ENDOR FURNACE, A HISTORICAL STRUCTURE FROM THE 1850'S.
