This month, we're excited to feature Wendy LaPlaca, a dedicated Senior Client Service Manager! Wendy’s days are a dynamic mix of responsibilities, from recruiting and program planning to 1:1 meetings with associates and client-facing managerial discussions. Her favorite part of working at WOS is supporting people through challenging times as they build successful careers. Wendy's favorite WOS program is our cohort program, where she loves the sense of camaraderie it fosters. Before joining WOS, Wendy’s passion for helping others led her to work as a special education teacher and child advocate. Sean Yildirim’s journey with WOS began while he was searching for entry-level HVAC technician roles. Although it initially seemed too good to be true, Sean decided to take a leap of faith and applied. After successfully advancing through the Program Selection Event, he began training and placement with one of our partners. However, Sean faced unexpected challenges in his placement, including limited guidance and unconventional training methods. Despite these obstacles, he remained determined to make the most of his situation. Just two weeks before his cohort's graduation, WOS was able to switch Sean to a new trade ally who would provide him with training and guidance. Despite this setback, Sean was still able to take with him knowledge for success both in his personal and professional life. He uses his experience to continue growing in his career and becoming a strong leader. Reflecting on his journey, Sean acknowledges the rocky start but remains grateful for the opportunity WOS provided. In his words, “I was falling, and I signed up and you guys caught me… the stars aligned. I don’t know what other way to put it.” His perseverance turned challenges into triumphs, setting him on a path of success and continuous growth. (fb)
