It was founded in memory of Dalton, who had a strong desire to support the homeless community during his life.

The organization's roots began in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Dalton's family started serving the homeless at the Harvest Center in 2005. His untimely death in 2016 led his family to establish Dalton's Vision as a way to carry on his legacy and work.
