Nevenka Folk Ensemble Nevenka Folk Ensemble is a Los Angelesbased womens folk chorus performing music from Eastern Europe. Our repertoire includes songs from Albania Armenia Bulgaria Croatia Georgia Greece Hungary Macedonia Russia Ukraine and from the Ladino Sephardic and Romani cultures. The group was formed in 1976 by women who shared a common interest in the complex harmonies and compelling rhythms typical in Balkan music. Very much in the Eastern European tradition Nevenka includes women of all ages making music together.
