The mission of the National Hispanic Institute is to nurture the intellectual leadership of the Latino community through its most capable youth. Through its efforts, the National Hispanic Institute works to craft a different understanding of life in the Latino community of the 21st century. It conveys an image and view of a futuristic, emerging Latino community that is economically and career motivating to the young. Participation in the Latino community is transmitted as emotionally, psychologically and intellectually satisfying to the extent that it drives the best young minds to consider making their involvement a key goal in their education and training. It is in giving new meaning to life in the Latino community that NHI seeks to attract top Latino youth to become active and visible in shaping that community.
