May is National Trauma Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact of trauma on individuals, families, and communities, and to commit ourselves to prevention, education, and care. At Mount Carmel East, we are proud to be a leader in trauma care for Central Ohio. As an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center, our interdisciplinary team of trauma specialists works around the clock to provide expert, lifesaving care when every second counts. Our work doesn’t start at the trauma bay doors, however, as we aim to prevent traumas before they happen. This month, we’re inviting you to be a part of the injury prevention mission. Here are some small actions you can take which can have a big impact: Learn how to control bleeding by taking a Stop the Bleed class. Practice safe driving habits.
