B'nai B'rith Youth Organization

B'nai B'rith Youth Organization (BBYO) is a leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement. It was originally founded as two separate entities: Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA), the fraternity for boys, and B'nai B'rith Girls (BBG), the counterpart for girls. In 1924, AZA was officially established and eventually adopted by B'nai B'rith, alongside BBG, forming what is known today as the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization.

AZA was created in imitation of college fraternities to provide a space for Jewish teens who often found themselves unable to join non-Jewish organizations.
