LIHA is a non-profit dedicated to keeping trails open in & surrounding the Muttontown Preserve. Our goal is to provide stewardship of the preserve & host recreational & educational events & preserve trails, protect parks, uniting riders throughout LI. -To educate the public about the Equine Community on Long Island. We offer opportunities for people to interact with horses, ponies, and other livestock with the help of our volunteers at our annual Equine Festival. The public is invited to attend this free event. All costs are paid by the Muttontown Horsemen’s Association & local sponsors. To protect the Muttontown Preserve. We cooperate with the Nassau County Department of Parks Dept to maintain & improve the trail system for riding, hiking, and nature walks, along with preserving Green Spaces in Muttontown & surrounding areas. -To work with local village government and landowners to protect the adjoining trail systems. -To support other equestrian organizations on Long Island.
