Last week, we closed out our 2024–2025 MƒA Thursday Think speaker series with a powerful talk featuring Dr. Uché Blackstock: “Legacy: Mobilizing for Health Equity.” Dr. Blackstock explored the roots of racial health disparities in the U.S. and offered actionable steps toward achieving health equity. Drawing from her own experiences as a Black physician, she challenged those in attendance to look at solutions to create a healthcare system that works for everyone. Our Fellowships Are Different We invest in outstanding NYC public school STEM teachers and support them for the long term. We pay substantial stipends each fellowship lasts four years and teachers can spend up to twenty years in an MA fellowship. The Latest from MA Weaving a Pathway to Mathematical Engagement MA teachers built a collection of images and stories of weaving from their own lives constructing cardboard and canvas looms and weaving paper and small textiles.
