1. Encourage participation in the arts among various audiences: we serve the needs of underserved youth through partnerships with community centers located in low income areas and the hearing impaired through workshops with the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf (all of our major performances are interpreted for the hearing-impaired through American Sign Language). 2. Programs focus on interactive exchanges between youth and artists that inspire creativity, promote communication, foster tolerance, encourage cultural exchange, and provide a stimulus for creative thinking and activities that enrich students? academic functioning. 3. Provide professional dance instruction to public and private schools that have no dedicated dance program. 4. Preserve and transmit community-based artistic traditions that play a role in community development efforts and lead to positive community norms such as diversity, tolerance and free expression.
