Kicked off Ram Dass’s birthday weekend by standing up for love and truth alongside hundreds of thousands across the nation. We carried Ram Dass’s protest signs and teachings in our hearts: “As I open to the love in my heart for my fellow beings—including the earth—the yearning to become an instrument for the relief of all suffering grows stronger.” On Ram Dass’s birthday, we’re praying for the most vulnerable—the houseless, the immigrants, the Medicaid recipients, the elderly, the veterans, the LGBTQIA+ communities, the national parks, the endangered species, the hard working every day citizens who are doing their best. May all sentient beings be wrapped in a blanket of unconditional love and unbearable compassion and be flooded by God’s grace. As we celebrate Ram Dass today, we’re contemplating how we be able “to act with boldness and love…we need to embrace the impossibility of achieving a world that has no suffering in it and yet work for change at the same time” (Ram Dass-Compassion in Action).
