🌟We invite you to join us in our exciting new workshop series coming this summer! Promoting Yourself and Your Work, led by Robin Cembalest, aims to equip you with practical skills to help build visibility at any point in your career. Sign up for any session now on Eventbrite! Session #1 — Crafting Your Message and Artist Bio: In this first session, Robin will share how to craft messages about yourself and your work that can be shared across digital channels. This will include learning how to: •develop nuanced language about your identity and how it impacts your work •describe your art and put it in a context chronicle your artistic process •share your meaning and intention Robin will then teach you how to shape the message into an effective bio, sharing strategies and templates to help you adapt your bio and statement for different professional needs. — 💫Session 1: Crafting Your Message and Artist Bio 6/9 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, virtual 💫Session 2: Creating and Implementing Your Content Strategy 6/24 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, virtual 💫Session 3: Promoting Your Projects and Events, 7/16 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Stay tuned about the upcoming sessions or check our Eventbrite (link in bio) for more information! — Respected journalist, influential Instagrammer, and the former longtime editor of ARTnews, Robin Cembalest trains art professionals to communicate effectively about themselves, their work, and their projects. She teaches writing, social media, public speaking, and other essential skills to clients across the art industry. A faculty member of the School of Visual Arts, a longtime instructor in the Bronx Museum’s AIM program and a coach at Creative Capital, Robin has built a specialty in career development for artists, leading workshops at schools, residencies, and cultural organizations. Widely published in the art and mainstream press, she is best known today as @rcembalest, the handle of her popular Instagram. (fb)

We are now accepting applications for the 2025 Howard Gilman Performing Artist Residency Cohort! This program supports the creative practice of 10 performing artists living and working in Staten Island through a 6-month residency cohort. This residency opportunity does not focus on project creation, and does not come with space, but rather focuses on nurturing each artist’s creative practice through peer mentorship and professional development. Awarded individual artists will receive $6,000 in support of their creative practice. Program begins in September. Deadline to apply is June 30. Link in bio for more information! (fb)
