This young man stayed at Lockport CARES for almost a month. During his time with us, he secured two jobs and found an apartment. He was a real leader to his housemates and a great help whenever needed around the campus. Below are his answers to a set of questions we ask of our departing guests: 1- What was your life like before you came to Lockport CARES? "It was great, I was homeless and slept on the street for one night." 2- How was your stay at Lockport CARES? "It was nice. Great people that helped me out a lot and helped see certain things in my life in a better light, and helped find faith again." 3- What have you learned while at the shelter that will help you in your future? "Have faith, move forward, though the storm. Time and patience help with change. And sometimes we all fall. We can't stay down there." 4- What would you say to new people entering the shelter? "It's a nice place of peace and calmness. But at the same time, make sure you get things started.
