CONSTABLE PUBLIC SAFETY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION INC
The Constable Public Safety Memorial Foundation Inc. is an I.R.S. approved 501 (c3) non-profit founded by Robert Dent in 1995 after the execution murder of fellow Oregon State Police Trooper Bret Clodfelter and subsequent suicide of his grieving wife of 33 days. (There were two young children left behind from a previous marriage). The foundation raises funds to help pay travel expenses of families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, attend the National Peace Officers' Memorial Service, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police. It is one in a series of events that includes the Candlelight Vigil Remembrance (reading of names of the fallen for the year) that is sponsored by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and grieving seminar sponsored by Concerns of Police Survivors, The National Police Survivor’s Conference is held in Washington D.C. in May of each year. It is also our mission, through education to help prevent suicide of surviving family members. In addition, the foundation donates funds to help pay travel costs for needy military families to visit their critically injured loved one. This is facilitated through the Wounded Warriors Project. The foundation receives no government funding and relies solely upon private tax deductible donations. The Board Members and volunteers do not receive any type of compensation as they want donations to go where it is intended…to help the families. We are a small organization and can’t help everyone…but we can help and remember one family at a time. Thank you for your help.
