TO CONTINUE A CENTURY OLD TRADITION AS THE PREEMINENT MEMBER OWNED, PRIVATE ATHLETIC AND SOCIAL CLUB IN THE METROPOLITAN AREA.

Denver Athletic Club

The Denver Athletic Club is a 501(c)7 social and recreational club with the EIN 84-0186450. Founded in 1884, it is one of the oldest and largest private city clubs in the United States, located in the heart of Denver, Colorado[1][3].

History

Established in 1884, the club initially operated from a converted First Baptist Church near 18th and Curtis streets. In the fall of 1890, it relocated to a new five-story building on the corner of 14th and Glenarm Place, where it remains today[1][3]. Throughout its history, the club has undergone several expansions, including additions in the 1920s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, positioning it as a leading social and athletic institution in the Rocky Mountain West[3].

Facilities and Programs

The Denver Athletic Club offers a wide range of facilities, including a large fitness center, six racquetball courts, Colorado's leading squash center with seven courts, a full-size basketball/volleyball court, five group exercise studios, an indoor golf simulator, and a 25-meter indoor swimming pool[1][4]. Additionally, the club features meeting and conference rooms, a grand ballroom, a sundeck, and a luxury coworking space. Members have access to a licensed childcare center and a full-service spa and wellness center[4].

Operations and Financials

As a member-owned club, the Denver Athletic Club operates primarily for the benefit of its membership. It generates revenue through program services, net inventory sales, and initiation fees[2]. The club is recognized as a top-ranked private club, ranking among the best in the nation by Platinum Clubs of America[4].

Mission and Community

The Denver Athletic Club's mission focuses on providing a comprehensive environment for members to engage in athletics, conduct business, and socialize. With over 3,000 members, the club is highly regarded for its community, networking opportunities, and contributions to Denver's social scene[1][3].
