As we grieve the tragic loss of Morrow County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Sherrer, our hearts are further burdened by the events of last night. Two Mifflin Township officers were shot during a traffic stop, and two Columbus Division of Police officers were injured in a traffic accident while responding to the scene. We are relieved to share that the Mifflin Township officers are in stable condition and the CPD officers have been treated and released. The suspect in the shooting, Daveonte Dixon, remains at large. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact law enforcement immediately. We’re thinking of everyone affected and wishing the injured officers a full and rapid recovery.
