We showed up two weeks ago. Let’s do it again—louder and stronger. Join us this tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20th at 8 PM at the Lucia Mar School Board Meeting (602-G Orchard St, Arroyo Grande) to speak up during public comment on item #27. This agenda item centers around a proposed resolution that could impact trans youth in our community. While it’s currently listed as a non-voting item, community presence and input are essential. Wear your LGBTQ+ gear, bring your friends, and let’s send a clear message: Everyone belongs. Everyone is welcome. #ProtectTransYouth #CentralCoastPride #LGBTQSupport #LuciaMar #ShowUpForEquity #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TheGalaCenter (fb)

Dear GPDC Community, It is with heavy hearts that The Gala Pride & Diversity Center (GPDC), Tranz Central Coast (TCC), and Sarra Jarvis-Gallagher Productions, LLC, announce the cancellation of the “Pink Pony Club Dance Party” – an event originally scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2025. This event was created to celebrate queer joy and provide an inclusive, affirming space for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. All proceeds from the event were designated to directly support Tranz Central Coast, the oldest trans*-serving organization on the Central Coast, through GPDC. Unfortunately, members of the cast and crew faced harassment for their participation, and it was decided that their safety and well-being were more important than holding the event. To our performers, DJs, volunteers, and community partners: thank you for the time, creativity, and heart you invested in this event. Your contributions were deeply valued and impactful. To our broader community: we remain committed to celebrating queer joy and standing in proud, unapologetic solidarity with our trans* family. Our other Pride events—including Pride in the Plaza (May 31) and Trans Pride in the Park (June 1)—are moving forward, along with many smaller events throughout May and June. We hope you’ll join us in community, celebration, and solidarity. ... Get the full letter at our link in bio. (fb)
