Equipping Ministries Global
Equipping Ministries Global (EMG) is a US nonprofit organization dedicated to providing biblical, theological, and discipleship training to equip men and women for ministry. Founded in 2023 by Melissa Davis, EMG primarily focuses on training village pastors in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, who often lack access to formal theological education.
Mission and Purpose
The mission of EMG is grounded in Ephesians 4:11-13, which emphasizes equipping believers for works of service to build up the body of Christ. EMG seeks to address the significant gap in pastoral training across the Majority World, where the number of trained pastors is vastly lower compared to developed regions.
Areas of Operation
EMG operates in three main regions:
- Longido, Tanzania: Here, EMG has initiated English classes for pastors and church leaders to improve communication and access to global resources.
- Siaya, Kenya: EMG partners with local ministries, such as ELIM, to conduct training seminars. Additionally, it supports Ebenezer Children's Home by providing essential supplies and funding for strategic projects.
- Kireka, Uganda: EMG collaborates with Women’s Discipleship International (WDI) to train women in biblical and theological disciplines.
Investments in Local Communities
EMG invests in its service areas through several initiatives:
- English Classes: Offering daily English classes for pastors and church leaders in Longido, Tanzania.
- Support for Orphans and At-Risk Children: Partnering with Ebenezer Children's Home to provide essential supplies and support for strategic projects.
- Local Church Ministry: Financially supporting local churches in Siaya, Longido, and Kireka to enhance their community impact.
Organizational Leadership
Melissa Davis, the founder of EMG, holds a Master of Divinity from ACTS Seminary and a Ph.D. from Regent University. She has extensive experience in church and parachurch ministries across Canada, the United States, and Africa. Her leadership ensures EMG's curriculum is tailored to meet the specific needs of pastoral training in Africa.
