Since 1967, CBHC has been the premier membership organization for Colorado's community-based behavioral health organizations. COLORADO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM'S PURPOSE IS TO OPERATE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF, TO PERFORM THE FUNCTIONS OF, AND TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES OF ITS SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS; INCLUDING COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTERS, SPECIAL MENTAL HEALTH CLINICS, AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS DESCRIBED IN IRC SECTION 509(A)(1) AND 509(A)(2). THE ORGANIZATION'S SPECIFIC PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES INCLUDE: (1) PROMOTING AND ASSURING THE PROVISION OF APPROPRIATE MENTAL HEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE TO THE CITIZENS OF COLORADO AND ENVIRONS (2) PROMOTING THE INTEGRATION OF SERVICES AMONG THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT COLORADO AND ENVIRONS BY PROVIDING ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, QUALITY ASSURANCE, EDUCATION AND COORDINATION (3) CONTRACTING WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO AND OTHER PURCHASERS OF MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS AS PROVIDERS OF SUCH SERVICES.
