♥️This very strong, brave, and inspirational warrior is Emmett. Emmett has left the bone marrow transplant unit in Fort Worth’s Cook Children’s Hospital where he had two stem cell transplants and stayed over 80 days in the isolation unit. His momma updates: “He got to ring a bell, not “THE bell” like at the end of treatment, but still, a bell for getting out of transplant, which was by far the hardest thing we’ve been through yet. Not gonna lie, there were some very, VERY hard days; I had never seen my child so sick before and I hope I never see him this bad ever again. We are more than half of the way through our scheduled treatment protocol. It has been almost 9 months since diagnosis. Emmett is still being treated for transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA) but he should regain kidney function that was diminished over the last few weeks. Next stop is radiation, at Texas Center for Proton Therapy in Irving Texas.
