The Fight Foundation

The Fight Foundation is founded by a pediatric cancer survivor, who for the purposes of helping others, became a physician to children and then, seeking to further aid those in need, created this foundation alongside his wife to help children battling cancer.Dr. R. Caleb Buege was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, at the age of 15. After 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 4 surgeries, and countless nights spent hospitalized at Kosair Children's Hospital, he won his battle with cancer. His experience as a cancer survivor led him to pursue a career helping children with disease. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his Pediatric Residency at the very hospital where he received treatment, Kosair Children's Hospital. Now an attending physician in private practice in his hometown, Dr. Buege seeks to give back by creating The Fight Foundation alongside his wife, Lynsey.The Fight Foundation will endeavor to help children battling cancer. It is our goal to end childhood cancer, and make better the lives of those currently in the fight. Through various fundraising campaigns, we will fund childhood cancer research, assist those diagnosed with pediatric malignancy, and advance awareness of childhood cancer, its treatment, and funding.
