You can’t throw a Frisbee across the Oval on a sunny day without hitting an outdoorsy UM student, but there’s something special about Abigail Miller’s passion for outdoor adventure and her drive to share that love with others. During her time at UM, Miller started Chicks on Sticks, a club specifically designed to teach women the skills they need to feel safe in the mountains and provide access to ski gear. Along the way, Miller secured official ASUM club status and funding, ensuring the club will persist for future students. Miller, an integrated physiology major, will graduate from UM on Saturday. She's already headed to graduate school for a doctorate in occupational therapy. And we know she's bound for success, because she's the kind of Grizzly who understands that access to mountains, togetherness and turns is its own form of medicine.
