Shelter Dog Transport Alliance
The Shelter Dog Transport Alliance is a 501c3 animal transport based in Asheville, NC EIN: 92-2980830 Shelter Dog Transport Alliance is a partnership of over a dozen county animal shelters and rescues throughout the south. Our aim is to work together to ensure every shelter dog and cat gets a second chance at life. We decided to initiate this transport program because we never want to have to euthanize any shelter animal because we simply don't have a place for them. Further, we need to reduce overcrowding in our shelters so that we always have room to compassionately care for abandoned or neglected animals. When our shelters are at capacity, we safely transport at-risk dogs and cats to Northern rescue partners where forever homes anxiously await them. Because of strict spay/neuter laws, our Northern states have tackled pet overpopulation and are able to open their homes and hearts.
