Literacy Volunteers at Centenary College helps adults in Northwest Louisiana improve their literacy skills. Most are low-income people who have difficulty reading, writing, doing math, completing job applications and other simple forms. Many want to earn their high school diplomas to improve their job prospects, workplace opportunities, provide the basics of living and better care to their families and themselves. Some are people from other nations who want to increase their reading, writing, and conversational skills to effectively function in our culture and community. Still others simply want to improve their reading skills for personal pleasure or to read to their children and grandchildren. LVCC is ready and well equipped to help.
