Sight into Sound, formerly known as Taping for the Blind, is a Houston non-profit organization celebrating over 50 years of turning sight into sound for thousands of print-impaired individuals (most are blind). Our mission is to help the lives of individuals with visual, physical or perceptual disabilities through our award winning and free reading service program. We provide custom recording of written materials such as textbooks; a 24-hour/365 day radio station broadcasting newspapers, magazines and live programs; and audio description of cultural and entertainment events. Relying on a staff of three and more than 150 volunteers, our services are provided free of charge for our listeners.
