Uxbridge was originally part of the Western District of Mendon. Located in southeast Worcester County the town evolved from primarily agricultural to a mixed agricultural and industrial economy during the 19th and 20th centuries as one of the earliest manufacturers of American made textiles. Uxbridge has a rich history from the Native American people through the American Revolution and on to today.
