About the Prince Project Our Mission At the Prince Project our mission is to uncover the role of enslavement in Maines early past and share the research in an effort to help rewrite inaccurate historical narratives and better educate people. Our Events Vana Carmona founder of the Prince Project offers presentations on her historical research partnering with historical societies libraries and schools throughout Maine. Our Database CUNY NESRI or Northeast Slavery Records Index houses the Prince Projects searchable database of enslaved people that lived in Maine.
