We reimagine and provide safe, equitable mental health resources and arts programming for the Black community. Darkness RISING: A Mental Health Awareness Project Nonprofit aims to: -Improve the health and wellness of the Black community -Raise awareness about mental health in our community -Empower and engage our community via resources, events and services -Erase the negative stigma of mental health issues Darkness RISING is a vehicle to help individuals in the Black community begin conversations with their family, coworkers, and friends about their mental health and emotional well-being. We accomplish this by partnering with mental health providers and/or mental health educators to create events, seminars, and sessions where the intersection between mental health education and entertainment around mental health collide.

We produce inspirational cover songs visual albums and live concerts featuring Black Broadway and arts professionalsmany of whom have personal experiences with mental health challenges. Through music dance performance and storytelling we create spaces for dialogue selfexpression and emotional connection using the arts as a catalyst for wellness and healing. Our Work in Mental Health We provide free culturally competent mental health resources designed to support and empower marginalized communities.
