Houston GPS is committed to ensuring that all children in Houston have access to a high-quality public education. We strive to increase understanding of the responsibilities of school board members and to hold members accountable for high performance. Houstonians for Great Public Schools (HoustonGPS) mission is to improve education outcomes for students in Houston by selecting, supporting, and electing school board leaders who commit to ensuring there is a great public school in every neighborhood.

Math proficiency Only 28 of 8th grade Houston ISD students are proficient in math. For economically disadvantaged students it drops to 23.
