Honoring Juneteenth at Potlatch Fund 🖤💚❤️ Today we honor Juneteenth, a day of remembrance, resistance, and celebration. It marks the moment in 1865 when the last enslaved Black people in Texas were informed of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth calls us to reckon with histories of oppression and to uplift the resilience and leadership of Black communities, including Afro-Indigenous relatives whose voices are often erased but deeply rooted in shared struggles for sovereignty, justice, and collective healing.
