The Gaylord Building

We are a 185-year-old historic site on the I&M Canal in Lockport, Illinois. Our building serves as a national example of adaptive reuse, where visitors enjoy historical exhibits, fine art in Gallery Seven, and dining in the Public Landing Restaurant. The Gaylord Building Historic Site is a non-profit organization that conserves the Gaylord Building for current and future generations and provides engaging experiences that inform and entertain a diverse audience about history, preservation, and contemporary life while contributing to the revitalization of the area.
