Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) is a U.S. national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and assistance to all survivors of homicide victims. Established in 1978 by Robert and Charlotte Hullinger following the murder of their daughter, Lisa, POMC has grown into a network of support groups across the United States and abroad.

History

Parents of Murdered Children was founded after Charlotte and Bob Hullinger experienced the devastating loss of their daughter. Initially guided by Father Ken Czillinger, a Roman Catholic priest, the group expanded to include family members and friends who were survivors of homicide victims. Through mutual support and understanding, members found solace in sharing their grief.

Activities and Programs

• Second Opinion Services (S.O.S.): POMC offers independent expert analysis to address unanswered questions regarding a loved one’s death, providing closure and clarity.

POMC operates as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It relies on private donations and occasional grants to cover operational expenses. The organization is managed by a team of dedicated volunteers and leaders who oversee various chapters nationwide.
