About the organization

The Robey Theatre Companys mission is to develop and produce plays about global Black experiences. The organization was found in 1994 and began as a Readers Circle centering on Black Classics. The Robey Theatre Company was formally incorporated in 1996 by founders Ben Guillory and Danny Glover veteran actors and friends who are dedicated to ensuring opportunities for theatre actors in Hollywood. We are a community of artists and creatives who believe in the transformational power of plays.
