The Robey Theatre Company’s mission is to foster a community of artists to develop and produce plays written about the global Black experience. At its core, the organization is committed to effecting social change and to the preservation, production, and reinterpretation of celebrated “Black Classics”.

The Robey Theatre Company The Robey Theatre Companys mission is to develop and produce plays about global Black experiences. The organization was found in 1994 and began as a Readers Circle centering on Black Classics. The Robey Theatre Company was formally incorporated in 1996 by founders Ben Guillory and Danny Glover veteran actors and friends who are dedicated to ensuring opportunities for theatre actors in Hollywood. We are a community of artists and creatives who believe in the transformational power of plays.
