We’re nearly halfway through the year, and the community continues to support our newest neighbors. This year is giving us a special opportunity to deepen connections with families and individuals who were previously welcomed. Just last Saturday, a small team of dedicated volunteers got a chance to revisit four families who were previously welcomed and are now further along in their journeys. While the spirit of our regular Welcomes remained the same, the slower pace and longer visits allowed for more meaningful conversations and stronger bonds. Families shared their successes as they found jobs and then some of the children proudly showed off their academic awards! Volunteers shared their backgrounds and even assembled fruit baskets and brought along a few extra household supplies as thoughtful gifts. It was a beautiful glimpse into newcomer’s lives after successful resettlement. One volunteer shared: “This was a wonderful experience and I feel really lucky to have been a part of it!” Thanks to the community’s support and the heart of our volunteers, we’re able to continue walking alongside newcomers as they build their new lives here.
