Jim Thorpe, the greatest athlete of all time, dominated the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, winning gold in both the pentathlon and decathlon. 🏅🏅 However, the IOC unfairly stripped Jim of his Olympic wins on a technicality. #DYK that since the Nixon administration, April 16th has been declared #jimthorpeday to honor the Greatest Athlete of All Time? Over the weekend, The Kansas City Chiefs worked with Boys and Girls Clubs from local tribes to open their facilities to Native Youth so they could experience the legacy Jim Thrope helped build as the first president of what's now known as the NFL. Jim Thorpe's granddaughter and one of our #BrightPathStrong board members, Mary Thorpe, was on hand to witness the festivities, interact with the kids, and honor her granddad.
